En Route to San Francisco
Tuesday January 24th 2014 somewhere off Acapulco, Mexico. We are at present travelling at 21 knots hugging the coast in a very light sea and its 79’F. By Saturday lunchtime we will have reached San Francisco and it will be in the 50’s with posibility of rain and fog, so flip flops and shorts will be left on board in favour of something warmer.
We have all been told to be on our best behaviour when the American Customs come on board as it can take anything from 2 to 8 hours to clear through depending on what they find. Apparently we will all have to have a face to face interview to discuss our reason for entering the US. Because of all this, what was expected to be a two day stop in San Francisco is really going to be only 24 hours. I do believe that for somewhere like San Francisco we should stop over longer as there is so much to do and yet again…for the third time we will be stopping on the SUNDAY. Do P&O get reduced rates for being in port on a Sunday???
There are supposed to be 705 passengers doing the world which is over one third. However on the next leg, from San Francisco to Australia there are going to be a lot of Australians, Americans and children geting on. This probably will change to flavour of the cruise from the very British one at present. For the better or worse, I can’t say.
One thing I forgot, this is the age of the Kindle and Tablet. I’m afraid, judging by the people on this boat, the printed book has a very finite life. All for now.

We are all missing you enjoy San Francisco
