Friday 7th February 2014..or not….We have been having an extra hour in bed every few days throughout this world cruise and we are now 11 hours behind the UK. Well, all good things come to an end and tonight at 11.59pm Thursday 6th February it will become Saturday 8th February, or GMT +13.
Somewhere, or should I say somehow, I lose a day in my life! Or to put it in another way, with 2700 passengers and crew, that means the Aurora will be lost for over 7 years at sea!
Now this International Date Line was only established in 1884, so I want to know is, what happened to sailors before that, were they forever destined to sail the seven sea out of sync with those at home? Also do you think I can get some money back as P&O has mislaid Friday 7th February?
I don’t believe it, does that mean you and Jane are one day younger than when you set out! How much younger are you going to be by the time you get back?
I think you should pay a bonus to P&O for making you younger.
