Pirates Ahoy!
24th March 2014 We are now in Pirate Alley! Ah Ha!! As we left Sri Lanka we had a midnight rendezvous with a midget submarine and a company of highly trained specialist with tattoos swarmed aboard to protect us from any Pirates as we headed south.
The Beauty Saloon is now doing great business from the women passengers.
The ship has now been made into a fortress on the water and we have all had a Pirate Drill, where we stood in the corridors until told to back into our cabins.
Other high security measures include closing our curtains at night in the cabins and in the dining room. We also can’t walk around the deck as there are fire hoses everywhere.
Around the back, certain measures have been taken, like the boiling of chip fat and the stockpiling of bags of flour.
However our biggest security measure is the new sign draper decorously over the side of the ship “Security Warning – Keep Away”
Oh and the Captain has banned any reshowing of the film “Captain Phillips”…which we all saw last week!
ps slightly disconcerted to find your location still on P&O tracker despite pirate risk? perhaps they don’t realise modern pirates have sat nav?
Ah but is it the real position, or are we 1800 miles away like Malaysian Airlines?
